Day 1

Hanoi Arrival

Arrival and welcome at Hanoi Airport. Transfer to your hotel for check in. Your room is at your disposal from 13.30. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2


Head off on a full day tour of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, including a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his traditional stilt house and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. After that, visit Vietnam’s first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, visit the Ethnology Museum where you can learn about the customs and culture of Vietnam’s 54 diverse ethnic groups. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance – a unique Vietnamese Art form from Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Hanoi – Halong Bay

Leave Hanoi this morning and head straight to Halong Bay, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site with 3,000 islands of towering limestone dotting the bay and Gulf of Tonkin (200km – 4 hour driving). After arriving at noon, you will board a beautiful boat for an overnight cruise on Halong Bay with an excellent menu of fresh seafood. Lunch and dinner are served on the boat. Overnight on board.

Day 4

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue

Wake up early to enjoy views of the aquamarine water of the bay at its best. After a tea break, the boat continues to cruise quietly through the spectacular limestone formations of Halong Bay. Return to Halong harbour after brunch for transfer directly to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Hue. You will be met at Hue Airport and transferred to your hotel for check in. Brunch is served on the boat. Overnight at the hotel


Day 5

Hue City

Take an early bicycle ride along winding paths beside the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. On the way, visit a typical garden house, which was built according to precise rules of geomancy. After exploring the pagoda, board a boat trip to visit the Minh Mang Mausoleum. In the afternoon, discover the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba market. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6

Hue - Danang - Hoi An

In the morning, depart for Hoi An by car via the scenic Hai Van Pass where we will enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit. Stop at Lang Co to stretch your legs on the white sands of this peaceful beach. Upon arrival in Hoi An, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a stroll to visit Hoi An town, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its unusually well-preserved ancient streets and homes. Set out to explore the quaint cobblestone streets of the town with more than two-century-old Chinese houses. Sites include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and Phung Hung Chinese-trading house. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel

Day 7

Hoi An - Free Day

Spend the day at leisure to explore peaceful Hoi An Town and its beautiful beach. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel. 

There are a number of optional excursions you can take at a small surcharge: 

Option 1: Half day to eco-vegetable village of Tra Que village, known for its special aromatic herbs. Learn how to plant and water vegetables as well as how to cook some local specialities. 

Option 2: Half day visiting My Son Sanctuary where you will hike into the sacred valley of Vietnam’s most spectacular historic and religious site. 

Option 3: Visit M.Huynh Suong’s workshop, a famous sculpting artist, cycle to the mat weaving village of Duy Vinh.

Day 8

Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City

In the morning, transfer to Danang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. You will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to the city. Pay visits to some historic landmarks, including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the War Remnants Museum and Dong Khoi Street. Check in at your hotel before visiting the ethnic Chinese district of Cho Lon, Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Departure

Today we depart Saigon to explore Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival at Ben Tre Town, take a motorboat trip around Ben Tre River, stopping to visit a nice brick kiln, coconut fruit processing factories and some families in Cai Son and Thanh Nhon channel who make sleeping mats. Enjoy fresh fruit and green tea while relaxing at a local house. Continue by bicycle or motor cart and pass beautiful rice fields beofre having lunch at a local house. In the afternoon, take a rowing boat along a small channel to a rice making workshop and visit an ancient house. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh airport in the late afternoon for your flight. Dinner on your own account.
