Starting in Buenos Aires, you'll be entranced by San Telmo, the home of tango, before flying to Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world. Embark on a sea-bound adventure through the Strait of Magellan, lined by snow-capped mountains and glaciers. Disembark at Cape Horn, known as the 'End of the Earth', then follow in Charles Darwin's footsteps to Wulaia Bay where the HMS Beagle landed in 1833. Buenos Aires - Half day city tour

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, depart on a guided tour to the most important places in Buenos Aires.  The tour includes the National Congress, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Government House and the area of Plaza de Mayo. You will be at the heart of Tango in the traditional neighbourhood of San Telmo, where this sensuous dance is performed in the street for passersby to enjoy. Then you will visit La Boca and stop at this colourful suburb of the city, adopted years ago as home by the first Italian immigrants. Today it is home for important artists.

Then, a visit to Palermo is scheduled, a residential neighbourhood with parks and elegant buildings. Finally, you will visit sophisticated Recoleta, one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in which among other attractions, you can take a look at the famous cemetery alongside fine restaurants and cafes.

In the evening enjoy a typically Argentine first-class meal, be it the traditional steak, chicken or Patagonian lamb with a mouth-watering array of salads as well as any of a number of excellent pasta dishes before settling down for a tango  show which includes some of the best-loved songs, music and dances performed by skilled musicians and dancers.

Private transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. On arrival you are met and taken by private transfer to your new hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Tierra del Fuego National Park

Ushuaia - Tierra del Fuego National Park

Depart from the hotel west bound to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, the only park in the country on the coast. Here you can enjoy a ride with multiple panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, in the charming surroundings provided by the last foothills of the Cordillera de Los Andes before they dive into the ocean. A tour between bogs and beaver dams leads to the Lapataia River and Laguna Verde. Continue along the final stretch of National Route 3, which ultimately culminates at Lapataia Bay. In this place, the early inhabitants of the area have left their testimony in the "concheros", incredible archaeological sites that provide interesting information about their ancient customs. From here return to Ushuaia, making a stopover on the way to admire Rock Lake, which is characterised by the colour of its waters, which varies according to the weather. After the excursion, return to your hotel.

Ushuaia - Stella Australis Cruise

Check in at 990 Magallanes St. from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Board cruise ship at 5:30 pm. After a welcome cocktail reception offered by the Captain and his crew the ship will depart for “the uttermost part of the earth”. Our trip takes us through the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel to explore one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world: Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.

Stella Australis Cruise - Cape Horn & Wulaia Bay

We will be sailing through Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park, where disembarking is scheduled (weather permitting). The mythical Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and it is a sheer 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory. For many years it was an important navigation route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and it is known as the “End of the Earth”.  The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2005.

In the afternoon, we will go ashore at historical Wulaia Bay, originally the site of one of the region’s largest Yamana aboriginal settlement. Charles Darwin landed there in 1833, during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We will walk through a Magellan forest of lengas, coigües, canelos, ferns, and other endemic vegetation to reach a panoramic viewpoint.

Day 7: Cape Horn and Wulaia

We will be sailing through Brecknock, Ocasión, Cockburn, and Magdalena Channels to enter the spectacular De Agostini Sound, in the heart of Darwin Mountain Range. In this area we can see glaciers descending the mountainside all the way down to the sea. In the afternoon, on-board Zodiac boats, we will route to Águila Glacier where we will take an easy walk all the way the base of the glacier. We will experience the beauty of Patagonia’s cold rain-forest and see how the power of nature moulded the area’s landscape.

Day 8: Aguila Glacier

Day 9: Transfer to Torres del Paine

Magdalena Island - Punta Arenas. Transfer to Torres del Paine

Early in the morning (and weather permitting) we will go ashore on Magdalena Island, located in the middle of the Strait of Magellan. The island used to be an essential source of supplies for navigators and explorers and is inhabited by an immense colony of Magellan Penguins that we will be able to see during our walk to the lighthouse. In September and April this excursion is replaced by a ride on Zodiac boat to Marta Island to observe South American Sea Lions.
Finally, disembarking at Punta Arenas is scheduled at 11:30 am. Afterwards continue towards Torres del Paine national park.

The Torres del Paine National Park is part of the National System of the Protected Wildlife Areas of Chile. It is located 154 km from Puerto Bories. We will head north from Puerto Natales, reaching Villa Cerro Castillo. This is a village surrounding an old estancia that belonged to the Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego, devoted to sheep farming. Then we will continue our journey to Lago Sarmiento, where we will be able to observe the typical fauna of this area: ñandúes and herds of guanacos. We will enter the Torres del Paine National Park at Portería Laguna Amarga. Once inside the park, we will visit different viewpoints with unique perspectives of the Macizo Paine. We will take a thirty-minute walk to visit the Salto Grande waterfall, where we will be able to see the Cuernos del Paine (Paine Horns). Finally, we will reach Lago Grey, where we will start a one-hour trek, with a view of Glacier Grey and icebergs. We will return by the Mylodon Cave route, where we will have panoramic views of the Macizo Paine.

Departing from our own dock, we will start an authentic adventure navigating through the cold and amazing patagonian fjords, towards Bernardo O’Higgins National Park , Chile’s largest park with an area over 6,000,000 acres. During the trip we will unveil the history of the explorers who discovered this area. After 1 hour and 30 minutes we will arrive into Monte Balmaceda (4,070 feet high) where we will see the hanging glacier. Then we will disembark in Puerto Toro to start a 45 minute walk (round trip) towards the Serrano Glacier. Back in the boat, we will enjoy some cocktails and snacks and then continue to "La Peninsula", a typical Estancia where lunch will be awaiting us. After savouring the local gastronomy, In the afternoon, we can go horseback riding or trekking along the marvelous paths in the area or just rest and relax at the manor home and visit the attractions there.
