Once landed in Durban, pick your hired car up and drive to your hotel which sits right on the beach front of the Indian Ocean.

Spend the next couple of days driving down the beach front and seeing the sights of Durban and the amazing culture and zest this city has to offer. The Indian Ocean is warm all year round and offers great swimming and surfing.

There are bars and restaurants all along the beach front so a day out in the sun relaxing can then be replaced by eating local seafood overlooking the Ocean.

After a mornings breakfast on the outside terrace, you will depart on your drive to the Drakensberg mountains. These iconic mountains have been an attraction for their beauty and incredible landscape.

 The diversity in the mountains is also what makes them so well known, from hiking in the heat of the summer to walking on the snow capped peaks in the winter.

After driving back to the airport, drop your hired car off and catch your internal flight through to cape Town. Once landed in Cape Town, pick up your hired car and transfer through to the iconic and beautifully positioned 12 Apostles Hotel.

On one side of the property, a line of majestic mountains of The Twelve Apostles and the other, the sun sets on breeching whales during their season of birthing.

African Cooking Experience

African Cooking Experience

This is one of only a handful of full time cooking schools based in a Cape Township. Here you learn about African and Xhosa culture and cuisine; have the opportunity to interact with the locals and for you to also leave your mark on your journey to Cape Town. Your visit means that you are contributing in a small way to this project. 90% of the graduates secure a job (incredible in a country with an approximate 40% unemployment rate). Highlights on your half day tour include a welcome drink of ginger beer while you listen to a talk on African cuisine and culture; a hands-on cooking lesson where you learn to cook dishes like pap (similar to polenta), chakalaka, samp and a typical meat stew before settling down to enjoy your dishes at the restaurant.

Day 10 - Day 11: Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

Today sees you set off along route 62 to the beautiful Sanbona Dwyka Tented Lodge. The reserve rests on the warmwaterberg mountain which is famous for its San people who trekked the Earth in the heart of South Africa's Karoo.
