Holidays to the British Virgin Islands
A collection of over 60 islands, part of a volcanic archipelago, make up the charming British Virgin Islands. With consistent trade winds, calm currents, secluded bays and well-maintained marinas, this is prime sailing territory for all, from first-timers to old-hands. Sparkling clear waters allow for excellent snorkelling and diving; rent a boat from the main island of Tortola and head to Salt Island to explore the RMS Rhone, a sunken mail ship now an artificial reef full of colourful, tropical fish. Out of the water, hike the seven trails through the rainforest-like Sage Mountain National Park, sip on the islands’ signature ‘Painkiller’ cocktail on buzzing Jost Van Dyke or clamber over The Baths, a group of granite boulders forming a series of sea water-filled grottos.
