Day 1 - Arrival into San Jose

Arrival into San Jose International Airport where you are met and taken by private transfer to your hotel.

Located in Santa Barbara de Heredia, only 15 minutes away from the airport, Finca Rosa Blanca is an artistic, free-form design property set in an organic coffee plantation. Each morning guests wake to an exquisite breakfast, with freshly brewed organic coffee grown in the plantation and succulent mango, papaya, pineapple and bananas from the hotels own organic orchards.

Situated at a perfect elevation for coffee growing and a world away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, Finca Rosa Blanca offers an in-depth tour of the coffee farm, the processing plant and the roasting house. Enthusiastic guides will share their extensive knowledge on how organic coffee is grown, cared-for, harvested, processed and roasted to produce some of the world’s best coffee beans. You will learn about coffee through the ages, Costa Rican coffee history and you will become skilled at discerning the fine quality of the freshly roasted Finca Rosa Blanca coffee at a “catacion” or cupping session. Hiking the lush tree-shaded coffee fields you will discover how coffee is grown and harvested. The coffee is air and sun- dried on suspended hammocks called "parihuelas". With the farms own on-site roaster, Finca Rosa Blanca is considered an estate coffee, where every step of the growing, processing and roasting is done on the plantation.

Day 3 - Pacuare Lodge

Pacuare River Rafting

There is an early morning pick-up at the hotel lobby for your road transfer of around two and half hours to the Pacuare River. You stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast en route. In order to reach the lodge you need to raft for 90 minutes (class II-III rapids).

After lunch, enjoy a choice of a variety of included tours or simply to relax and enjoy this enchanting place. In the evening, dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit the upstairs lounge for a drink before leaving to a restful night’s sleep.

Day 4 - Pacuare Lodge

Start the day with a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal, juice and coffee. The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide guests with unique insights into the plant and animal world. You can choose from some exciting optional tours (included) such as guided hikes through the emerald rainforest, the Cabecar Indian hike, the adventure canopy tour, a horseback ride to Bajo Del Tigre village or a therapeutic massage.

Day 5 - Arenal

Breakfast in the lodge before departing around 9.30am by raft for another fun-filled day of white water rafting. Approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids, including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At the river take-out, you will have the time to change before departuring for your private transfer to Arenal.

Free day in Arenal. If you are still feeling adventurous then experience the canopy from a different perspective by taking one of the zip wire tours in the region. Afterwards kick back and relax in your own private Jacuzzi with views towards the Arenal Volcano.

Day 7 - Tamarindo, Pacific Coast

Free day. Perhaps visit the nearby Rincon de La Vieja National Park. Easily accessible from Tamarindo, the park has a number of trails which are easy to explore through the rainforest-like vegetation which opens up to crashing waterfalls, volcanic craters, smoking fumaroles, bubbling cauldrons of mud and steaming hot springs.

Free day. During certain times of the year (October to March) sea turtles nest on the near by beach of Playa Grande. Arrange a tour locally to see this amazing spectacle.
