Day 1 The Adventure Begins in Havana

The Adventure Begins in Havana

Arrive in Havana from the UK; meet and greet and transfer to your hotel, situated in the very heart of Old Havana. Depending on the time of your arrival you may have chance to take a little wander through the local area and sample the atmosphere. Overnight accommodation at a Casa Particulars.

Day 2 Unique Tour of Havana

Unique Tour of Havana

Following breakfast meet your experienced guide and fellow group members for your unique tour of Havana. First stop is a visit to the Museum of the Revolution, housed in the former Presidential Palace. Then a guided stroll within the narrow bustling streets of Old Havana. After lunch in this fascinating area enjoy a fun rum cocktail making lesson before exploring the impressive Revolution Square and 'Malecon' seafront promenade by chauffeur-driven old American cars. There may be some time later to further explore Havana independently before joining the group for dinner and music at La Fontana. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Unique Tour of Havana

Day 3 Las Terrazas National Park

Las Terrazas National Park

After breakfast leave Havana for Las Terrazas National Park. Visit a former coffee plantation and wander through a lakeside village (with the option to take an exhilarating zip wire ride through the treetops!) Lunch, in an ideal setting, is at the Farmers House at Las Terrazas, set within the National Reserve. There is some free time in the afternoon. Dinner will be served at an authentic restaurant within the local community. Stay overnight at the Moka Hotel.

Day 3 Las Terrazas National Park

Day 4 Vinales Valley

Vinales Valley

Following breakfast the tour will visit a small working cigar factory before travelling to the picturesque and UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Vinales Valley famed for its unusual limestone mountain formations called Mogotes. The area is home to the island's tobacco plantations; you'll visit a typical tobacco drying house to see how the tobacco crops are turned in to the world's best cigars. Take a leisurely guided walk through the valley stopping off at a farmer's house for coffee and explore Vinales Village. Lunch will be served at a local organic farm. Returning to Las Terrazas there should be some time for a quick dip in the pool before a special dining experience at a restaurant in the nearby village. Stay overnight at the Moka Hotel.

Day 4 Vinales Valley

Day 5 Cienfuegos - Trinidad

Vinales Valley

Following breakfast the tour heads to the south coast reaching Cienfuegos, a colonial city overlooking a beautiful bay. After lunch stroll through the colonial centre and along the seafront 'Malecon' promenade. This is followed by a scenic drive along the coast to the UNESCO preserved site of Trinidad. Expect a traditional meal at a specially selected Casa Particular restaurant. Stay overnight at a Casa Particular in central Trinidad.

Day 5 Cienfuegos - Trinidad

After breakfast the group enjoys a comprehensive tour of the centre of Trinidad, exploring the famous cobblestone streets, visiting the Romantic Museum (depicting Trinidad's colonial past) and the Museum of the Fight Against the Bandits (covering the revolutionary battles in the nearby Escambray Mountains). There will be some free time later to either continue exploring Trinidad or perhaps take a taxi to a nearby beach. Dinner will be at a local private restaurant in Trinidad, the town will have a lively weekend atmosphere. Stay overnight at a Casa Particular in central Trinidad.

Day 7 Che Guevara Mausoleum & Evening in Havana

Che Guevara Mausoleum & Evening in Havana

After a visit to the spooky Manaca Iznaga Tower in Sugar Mill Valley you'll head to Santa Clara with a visit to Che Guevara's mausoleum. After lunch return to Havana and look forward to the evening ahead which includes dinner at a carefully selected private restaurant, followed by a stroll through Old Havana and possibly a daiquiri drink at the Floridita Bar (famed for it's links with Ernest Hemingway). Then take your seats for a performance by the world famous Buena Vista Social Club, guaranteed to be one of the highlights of the trip! Stay overnight at a Casa Particulars.

As our tours are set up many months in advance, changes can occur to accommodation, restaurants and places to be visited as a result of changes in the local provision of services in Cuba. This is especially apparent in the winter season as Cuba continues to cope and change as a result of unprecedented global demand for the island, as well as a rapidly emerging USA visitor market that is both politically and commercially important to the Cuban Government and Tourism Authorities.

Where tour accommodation is located in a narrow side street where a larger vehicle/bus cannot access easily, or road rules restrict the driver from pulling up outside, guests may be required to walk a short distance with their luggage to the closest access point.

Our escorted tour itineraries are generally fast paced to fit everything in, and will generally keep you busy. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required.
